WSOP 2021: Tommy Le Wins His Second Bracelet In Event #45: $10K PLO Championship

Event #45: $10k Pot-Limit Omaha Championship of the WSOP 2021 concluded on Tuesday with Tommy Le emerging victorious to win $746,477 and his second gold bracelet. The California-based entrepreneur overcame a strong 344-entry field to win his seventh career PLO tournament title. 

With his latest victory, Le has got ahead of Stephen Chidwick ($2.5 million in earnings) to take the lead on the pot-limit Omaha all-time money list with $3,249,275. Le has 24 cashes to his name, with 15 coming at the WSOP. He has made nine WSOP final tables in PLO events, including two wins. This was his second score at this series as he also finished second in Event #39: $1,500 PLO for $126,549.

Le entered the final day as a chip leader among the five remaining players. He eliminated four-time bracelet winner Eli Elezra (6th for $124,508) at the end of the penultimate day of the tournament to extend his advantage. Two-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus was the first to fall on the final day. He was followed by Artem Maksimov and Chris Sandrock in fourth and third places.

Going into the heads-up, Jordan Spurlin (10,800,000) had a slight lead over Tommy Le (9,800,000). Within the first 10 minutes of play, Le regained the chip lead and kept it till the finish line. On the final hand, Spurlin held As 10h 8c 5h against 9h 6s 5d 2d of Le. The board ran out 9d 5s 4s 7s 9s where Le hit a full house to win the title. Spurlin had to settle for second place prize of $461,360.
