WSOP 2022: Ezequiel Waigel Leads Remaining 46 Players In Event #46; India’s Kartik Ved Finishes 103rd for $8,807

Day 2 of Event #46: $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) has concluded. The event drew in 850 entries and many players registered at the start of the day, taking the total field to 928 entries. There were some 324 players taking seats on Day 2 and following ten 60-minute levels, only 46 players could advance to Day 3 to be played out on June 21. They all will vying for the bracelet and the top prize from the $4,243,500 prize pool when they return for Day 3.

Of those 46 surviving players, Argentina’s Ezequiel Waigel leads the way with a stack of 3,440,000. He is followed by USA’s Anthony Spinella (2,575,000). Rounding out the top three spots is Stephen Song with 2,485,000. Other notables still in contention include Robert Mizrachi (1,170,00), Joey Weissman (985,000), Elio Fox (895,000), Kenny Hallaert (395,000), and Joe Cada(380,000) to name a few.

There were many big name players who entered the day but could not progress to Day 3 including the six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu (106th FOR $8,807), current WSOP POY race leader Daniel Zack (91st for $8,807), and 2015 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Riess (75th for $10,066).

Team India

From Team India, the WSOP veteran Aditya Agarwal and the former WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved were among the 277 players making it to Day 2. Agarwal had bagged a stack of 138,500, while Ved carried stack of 103,500 to Day 2. Unfortunately for Agarwal, who began the series on a good note by final-tabling Event # 3: $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em where he finished 9th for $23,634, exited the event empty-handed, while his mentee Ved made it to the ITM list, finishing 103rd for $8,807.
