The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online concluded on 17th July, with the final two events of a 13-tournament slate crowning champions in Gianluca “InMyHouse” Speranza and Shaun “BabyLegs” O’Donnell respectively. The former championed Event #12: $5,300 NLHE High Roller Freezeout Encore that drew in 245 entries, building $1,225,000 in prizepool that shared by the top 35 finishers.

After less than 12 hours of online action, the Italian poker pro Gianluca Speranza emerged victorious, earning his first WSOP gold bracelet and a massive $324,625 in top prize money.

This was his fourth-largest recorded tournament score. He secured his largest payday just a few months earlier by shipping the €25,000 buy-in high roller event at the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo for $895,650. The win marked his 43rd WSOP cash, taking his WSOP winnings to $1,680,863.

Paul Scaturro busted recent WSOP Circuit Bicycle Casino main event winner Michael Jozoff in third place to take the lead into heads-up play with Speranza. The Italian was able to get ahead early and then go all the way from there. He shipped the title with pocket queens all-in against the pocket sixes of Scaturro. The queens held up and Scatturo was eliminated in second place ($189,875).
