WSOP 2022: India’s Paawan Bansal, Muskan Sethi & Jaydeep Dawer Cash Event #54: $500 Salute to Warriors

Team India continues to make a splash at the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) with more than three dozen Indians already cashing at the series. Adding to the team’s tally most recently were 2018 WSOP The Closer runner-up Paawan Bansal, India’s first female poker player Muskan Sethi and avid poker pro Jaydeep Dawer – all exited on Day 2 of the event. 

Running deepest among the three Indians was Bansal, who led the trio of Indians at the end of Day 1.  He began Day 2 of the event with the 14th biggest stack (842,000 chips). While the Indian pro put up a good fight, he unfortunately fell at the 200th spot and secured a pay cheque of $1,277 – which happens to be his third cash at the WSOP 2022. Exiting two spots before him was Sethi who began Day 2 with 340,000  chips and finished 202nd for $1,277,  registering her fourth cast at the ongoing series.

Starting Day 2 of this high-value event with the lowest stack of 120,000 among the trio of Indians was Dawer who fell out in  463rd place and banked $800, his first cash at the ongoing series.

Featuring a low buy-in of $500, the event drew in a massive 3,209 entrants and generated $1,444,050 in prizepool. A total of 482 players were assured payouts with a min-cash of $800. A whopping 3,188 have already cashed the event and there are only 21 players left standing. Leading the 21 survivors is USA’s James Todd with 20,000,000 (50 BBs). While each of the final 21 players has locked at least $6,839, they will be eyeing the top prize worth $161,256 when they return for Day 3 finale on June 28.
